Checklists

For Individuals

The Tax Year 2011 Checklist (PDF) will help individuals gather the information and documents we will need to prepare personal income tax returns.

All individual clients should complete a 2011 Tax Year Questionnaire(printable PDF). We want to be sure that our information about our clients is accurate.

For Businesses

For business owners, we have compiled a list of information on this printable pdf document that we will need to assist with year-end business tax and accounting needs. The Schedule C worksheet (PDF) will help small business owners collect the information about their business income and expenses needed to complete their Schedule C. Small business owners who file a Schedule C should be aware the the IRS is looking very closely at those forms. The IRS believes that $68 billion of the reported $345 billion tax gap (the difference between what taxpayers should have paid and what they actually paid) is attributed to sole proprietors and small businesses that have misreported their business activities, understated their income or overstated their expenses. This year, we have prepared a Trade or Business Checklist to help you determine if your sole proprietorship will hold water under review by the IRS. If you file a Schedule C, please complete and sign this checklist for our files.

For rental property owners, the Schedule E worksheet will be useful for collecting rental property income and expense data that will be needed to prepare their taxes. You can view this worksheet as a printable PDF which will open in new window.
